Villa Booked

We have decided this time round to spend at least a week of our holiday staying in a villa.

After lots of searching we found the villa we want and have booked it today.

The villa we have chosen is called "Citrus View" and is situated in Westbury. It has 4 bedrooms, a private south facing pool (with pool heating), a games room and a Spa amongst other things!

We are looking forward to having a relaxing week here.

We are going again!

Yay we are going to Florida again!!!

Booked our flights tonight with Virgin Atlantic. We have decided this time to fly from London rather than Manchester and we are also going to fly back from Miami so we can explore a bit more of what Florida has to offer.

We are flying from Gatwick to Orlando on the 23rd October and back from Miami to Heathrow on the 8th October!

Photopass Photos

In various places around the parks and water parks there are official photopass photographers. Here are a selection of our photos taken by them during our holiday:

Day Sixteen - Going Home

We didn’t have anything planned today other than going home so we go up and made a start on our packing. We got it all packed up and loaded into the car before heading over the Food court for the last time. We had a good breakfast and used up a few more of our snack credits on some bits for the journey home and to give as presents when we got home.

We spent a while in the arcade area as we still had money left on our card. We ended up with allsorts of prizes after we “spent” all our winning tickets! More stuff to try and cram into our luggage!

We said our final goodbyes to Pop Century and then headed over to Downtown Disney to do our Check in for the flight. Unfortunately we hadn’t read the details properly so were just a bit too late for check in. They gave us some vouchers to spend on board and managed to check our seats were together but they couldn’t take our bags. We had to cram them back into the car again!

We then headed round to the other side of Downtown Disney and headed to Wulfgang Puck for some lunch as it was by now about 2pm. Why did we not discover this place before now? The food was gorgeous and the best value counter service meal we had! This one is top of our list for our next trip!

We had a look around a few shops and then it was time for us to head back to the airport to drop off our car.

We checked in with no problems and killed a bit of time in the airport looking round the shops etc. We had a bite to eat at Burger King (I think) before heading to our departure gate.

Our flight was due to leave at 20.55. The flight was delayed for about an hour where we started to stress a little bit about the short time we had in Manchester Airport to change terminals and check in again for our connecting flight.

We boarded the flight and all went smoothly. The boys slept a big chunk of the way home but I can never sleep on a flight.

Luckily we had the wind behind us so we made up the time that we had been delayed so were scheduled to land on time/slightly early.

It all went a bit wrong though on the descent as Freddie claimed to not feel well. No signs of any sick bags and no way of getting any as the air stewardesses were all strapped in by now ready for landing. He was luckily only sick a little bit and we managed to mop it up etc with tissues & babywipes (tissues passed to us by helpful passengers nearby). In the meantime I haven’t noticed Tommy turning a nice shade of green and with no warning he was then sick all down himself. Luckily I had a spare t-shirt but it wasn’t a nice experience! Freddie has been known to be travel sick on a ferry but I have never seen Tommy to suffer before now. We were seated right at the back of the plane and put it down to this.

We got off the plane fairly promptly and managed to get our luggage picked up and made our way across the airport to change terminals. We had to get on a bus to get to the other terminal and when we stepped outside it was so windy and cold! A big shock to the system!

We got checked in with Flybe and had an uneventful flight home to the Isle of Man (luckily no more sick!!) Arriving home in the Isle of Man at 12.30pm

To sum up we had a fantastic holiday and have booked to go again this October!

Day Fifteen - Magic Kingdom

Our final full day in Florida

We started the morning by taking a walk around the resort to take some photos around the place before heading for breakfast at the Food Court.

This is a photo of the block we were staying in :

The year I was born:

The year Kev was born:

After a good look around and some breakfast we headed over to Magic Kingdom for the final time. It was a lovely warm day today which made a change after the few colder days we had.

Once we got into Magic Kingdom we headed over to Tomorrowland where I got us some fastpasses for Buzz Lightyear. Then we joined the line for the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. It was very funny and the guy in front of us kept getting picked. We decided to give Stitch’s Great Escape a miss as I had read some poor reports of it.

We all went and did Buzz Lightyear (saving our fastpasses for later on) and then headed over to the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway.

We could have quite happily given this a miss since we both hated it at Disneyland Paris but the boys begged to go on it! It had the longest queue we had the whole holiday and it was getting warm now too. This combined with the engine fumes from the cars didn’t make queuing much fun!

We got to the front eventually and Tommy drove with me as passenger and Kev had Freddie as a driver behind us.

Although it was pretty hellish as Tommy’s driving was so erratic the boys both loved it!

Next we headed over to the Haunted Mansion which was nice to get out of the sun for a bit!

We walked over to Frontierland where we got fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain and then headed over to go on Pirates of Caribbean.

On our way out the exit we spotted Peter Pan so joined the queue.

We were now getting hungry so headed back to Fantasyland where we had lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus.

While in Fantasyland we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic again as we had enjoyed it so much the last time. We were going to go on Winnie the Pooh but it had broken down.

It was now getting close to parade time so we headed to get a good spot. As we got settled down on the pavement I nipped over to a stand and got some ice creams to use up some more snack credits!

We didn’t have to wait long before the start of the parade:

After the parade was finished we headed back over to Frontierland so we could ride Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. We already had our fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain but didn’t have any for Splash Mountain.

We went to the Cast Member to get a Baby Switch (as Tommy is marginally too small). Kev & Freddie then went to join the normal queue while I hung around with Tommy in the little play area. The Cast Member must have been feeling very kind though as she then gave Kev an extra Baby switch pass so they could go in the fastpass queue instead!

While me & Tommy were waiting for them to come off the ride we joined the queue to meet Goofy.

We met up with Kev & Freddie and swapped over and I went on with Freddie again.

Next it was time to head over to Big Thunder Mountain which we managed to ride quickly using our fastpasses/ baby switch.

It was now time for our reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern at 5.10pm. We headed over there and were seated quickly.

We met Chip, Dale, Pluto, Goofy & Minnie (some of them came round twice) while we were served at the table by our server. The food was lovely and we all enjoyed it.

We headed over the Fantasyland and found that the Winnie the Pooh ride was now working again so we all rode this. We then went on the Mad tea party ride.

We had intended to watch Spectromagic but we were too late to get a good spot on the pavement so we decided to leave it.

We headed back to Tomorrowland where I rode Space Mountain but Kev didn’t bother.

We still had our Buzz Lightyear fastpasses form earlier on so we all had another go on this while waiting for Wishes.

It was now time to get ourselves a spot to wait for the fireworks to start. The boys were getting tired now so we were glad to have their buggies.

Finishing our holiday with Wishes was a brilliant ending.

We could see that it would be a nightmare to keep together to exit the park so we split up and arranged to meet back at the end of Main Street. Tommy fell asleep on the way back up main street.

One last look up Main Street towards the castle where you can see the Christmas Decorations are now up and the Halloween down.

A busy but brilliant last full day of our holiday we headed back to our hotel for the last time. No time or energy to pack now tonight so it will be an early start in the morning to get organised!
