Disneyland Paris - Day 2

Day 2 – Tuesday 2nd October 2007

We got up early and headed back to the plantation restaurant for our buffet breakfast.

Breakfast was good although all continental.

We then packed up our suitcases, checked out and went to wait for the bus to go to the parks.

The weather was a bit grey when we got outside but it didn’t seem too cold.

We had to wait a little while for the bus to come and it was quite hard work to manage with a buggy and suitcases. The bus took quite a while to get to the parks as it went round all the other non-disney hotels on the way there.

When we got off the bus we headed through Disney Village to our hotel the Disney’s Hotel New York where we were able to check in and our room was ready.

On our way to the room we spotted Goofy in the foyer and the boys were so excited to see him (although Tommy doesn’t look too impressed in the photo!)

The room was lovely. Although we were happy with the Explorers room this was much nicer!

We deposited our suitcases and loaded up the buggy ready for our first ever visit to a Disney park!

It was so magical to see the castle for the first time although it was a lot smaller than I imagined it to be.

We headed to It’s a Small World first which we all loved although I did have the tune stuck in my head for the rest of the day!

Next we went on the Mad Hatter’s teacups and the went round the Alice Labrynth which was boring!

The park was really quiet so we didn’t really have to queue for long.

I grabbed some fast passes for Peter Pan and then we got in the queue for Dumbo (which was the longest queue we had all day).

After Dumbo we went on the Carousel and Pinnochio before heading for our time slot on Peter Pan.

We then headed through to Adventureland where we all went on the Pirates of the Caribbean. I had worried if the boys would be a bit scared on all these dark rides but they were fine.

Indiana Jones was closed so we headed to the Pirate Beach adventure playground where the boys had a play while we rested our legs!

We then headed for frontierland where we had a booking for a character lunch at the Lucky Nugget Saloon for 13.00.

We arrived at the restaurant and were seated in the middle of the room on the floor. The food was good but because we were in the middle it was difficult for the characters to get to our table easily.

After lunch we grabbed some fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain and headed for Phantom Manor in the meantime.

I was a bit wary of the boys being scared on Phantom Manor but they were fine. We then headed for our slot on Big Thunder Mountain where Kev went on the ride with Freddie (who was border line just tall enough to ride) while I waited at the exit with Tommy.
When Kev & Freddie came off the ride a CM took me up to the ride so I could go straight on the ride. Freddie would have been allowed to ride again with me but he didn’t want to!

We then headed back towards Central Plaza where we noticed the Character Express and Freddie went to get an autograph from Buzz Lightyear.

We then picked a bit of pavement to sit on and waited for the parade to start. It was quite along wait and not too easy to keep the boys sitting still but it was worth it to have a good spot.

When the parade started it was amazing. I really loved it. I took tons of photos but here is a selection.

After the parade we headed to Discoverland where we went on the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast and Star Tours before joining a ridiculous queue for Autopia which Freddie was very keen to go on.

We then headed back to Disney Village where we had our dinner in MacDonald’s. We then headed back to the hotel to put the boys to bed.
