We were at Hollywood Studios nice and early and at the rope drop at 9.00am.
First stop was Toy Story Midway Mania (everyone else seemed to have the same ideas!) Where I got in the queue to get a fastpass and then we intended to ride with the standby queue as well but the ride wasn’t running due to some fault of some sort. They hoped to get it sorted soon though.
We then headed for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (one of Tommy’s favourite films along with Peter Pan). We were in the queue ready for the first show. We all really enjoyed this especially Tommy.
It was now nearly time for the Power Rangers Meet & Greet so we headed to Streets of America and ended up being front of the line for the Blue Power Ranger once they started the queues. It was great seeing the boys meet one of their heroes! We got some Photo pass photos taken here with as well. Next we got in line for the Yellow ranger who was much better than the blue one. She was good at getting Freddie to pose for the camera (although there is no getting Tommy to co-operate!)
Then we headed over to Muppet Vision 3D where there was only a 10 minute wait. We loved this and were all laughing throughout. Tommy wore his glasses this time and seemed to enjoy it too!
Then we headed over to Luigi’s garage to meet Lightening McQueen & Mater with only a minute or two wait. We all had our photo taken here by the Photopass Photographer.
Next we headed over Star Tours where we did a baby switch as Tommy isn’t quite big enough to ride. Me & Freddie went on first and then when the ride finished I had to stay seated when Kev came in to swap over and Freddie could ride again but he didn’t want to! This ride was just the same as the one at Disneyland Paris (where Tommy was allowed to ride a year ago!) but was so much better without the French commentary!
We were getting hungry now so headed over to the Toy Story Pizza Planet Arcade where we shared an adult & child’s pizza meal using our Counter Service credits (notice how early on in the holiday we are trying to save our credits then on the last day we have more than we can possibly use up!)
Next we went to Monster’s Inc character area where we met Sully & Mike. We queued for about 10 minutes for this and had our photos taken by the Photopass photographer with them.
We headed back to Toy Story Mania and found the ride was running now with an 80 minute wait we were glad we had the fastpasses! As the ride had been late to open up then it meant we did have to queue for a while even with our fastpasses though probably about 20 minutes in the end. We all loved this ride (although Tommy doesn’t really get how to use the gun so ended up with a score of 0!) Kev beat me on this ride but I can’t remember our scores.
We were going to go to the Playhouse Disney Live on Stage but as the show was about to start it would have meant the boys being right at the back so we decided to leave it and try and do it again another time (although we never did get chance to).
Instead we went to the Magic of Disney Animation which was better than the Paris version being in English but still a bit boring! We then got to meet Frozone & Mr & Mrs Incredible as well as Mickey Mouse where we got Photopass Photos. The boys liked playing on the cartoon screens (colouring in flounder!) and we enjoyed a sit down in the air conditioning!
We grabbed some ice creams and ate them while walking over to Tower of Terror.
We got fastpasses for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and then we did the baby switch on Tower of Terror as the queue was only showing as 10 minutes. Freddie was adamant that he wanted to ride this as he was tall enough even though we knew he wouldn't like it! I joined the queue with him. All was going well and then the queue seemed to stop moving altogether (Kev said that it had apparently broken down twice while we were in there but we were never told anything). It turned out to be more like 25 minutes. I hadn’t ridden this before as it hadn’t opened up yet when we were in Paris last year so didn’t really know what to expect. Freddie was scared and cried! I loved it but was trying to calm Freddie down so couldn’t enjoy it properly. Kev went on using the baby switch fastpass (without Freddie who refused to ever go on it again!) and also thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tommy fell asleep in his buggy so we went to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster where we used our fastpasses to ride one at a time as Freddie isn’t big enough for this. I’m still not sure about this ride after doing it in Paris as well. It is good but it bashes your brain around too much!
It was now time to leave the park to head to the Wilderness Lodge for our ADR at Whispering Canyon Café at 5.30pm. Tommy stayed asleep while we transferred him from buggy into the car. We drove to the Ticket & Transportation Centre as we decided we would like to watch Wishes at Magic Kingdom if we could after our ADR. Tommy was still asleep and managed to transfer him into buggy, then from buggy onto the tram! He did wake up before we got the Monorail to Magic Kingdom and then got onto the ferry back over to Wilderness Lodge though!
We checked in for our ADR and were quickly seated and our server came and took our order. We all ordered the bottomless Milkshakes (Strawberry for me & Tommy & Chocolate for Kev & Freddie).
We all ordered the Skillet. The Salad for starters was nice (well as nice as a salad can be!!!) and the cornbread & butter was gorgeous! The boys loved this too. The Skillet included Corn on the Cob, Mashed Potatoes, Baked Beans, Ribs, Chicken, Pulled Pork & Brisket. The Ribs & Pulled Pork were my favourites and Kev liked the Chicken.
We got Freddie to ask our server for some Ketchup and his face was a picture when 26 bottles arrived at our table! He then enjoyed having to deliver the 26 bottles to the next table which asked for Ketchup!
Soon after we arrived the hobby horse ride started which the boys enjoyed too.
Freddie couldn’t find his spoon so asked the server for one and he brought one for him that was wooden and the size of an oar!
We were too full for desert even though it was included in our Disney Dining Plan.
We had just enough time to get the ferry back to Magic Kingdom and get inside and onto Main Street in time for the 8.00pm Wishes.
This was incredible and we were so glad we managed to squeeze this in now as we weren’t due to watch Wishes till our last night.
As it was Extra Magic Hours tonight at Magic Kingdom we thought we would make use of it and have a look around. It was quite hard getting through the crowds as everyone else was heading out of the park but we managed to get to the castle and through it and into Fantasyland. We headed for Peter Pan’s Flight (since this is our favourite Disney film) and although it was a 20 minute wait decided it was worth it. We all enjoyed this although it is such a short ride for a long wait! Tommy loved it the most.
We were starting to tire now so headed back to the monorail, tram and back to the car.
Back to Pop Century and to bed after a long busy day!
