Day Eight - Boardwalk, Downtown Disney & Epcot

We had a bit of a lie in this morning as we didn’t have to be at the Beach Club Resort for our Goofy’s Breakfast at Cape CafĂ© May until 9.05am. We drove to the Beach Club and they gave us a parking permit for three hours.

We checked in to the restaurant and were soon seated at our table.

We were visited by Goofy, Minnie & Donald while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

After our breakfast we took a walk around the Boardwalk.

After a quick look in a couple of shops we hired a Surrey Bike. This was great fun but I enjoyed it more when I was steering than when I wasn’t in control!

The boys had a quick play on the beach and then we headed back to our car.

We drove to Downtown Disney and parked up. We had a wander around and spent quite a while in the Lego shop!

We were starting to feel hungry now and fancied a Mcdonalds. Kev won a free “small” McFlurry from the Monopoly game thing on the side of the cups and the “small” Mcflurry we got was big enough to feed a family of 8!

We went back to the hotel to put our shopping in our room and Kev took the boys for a swim in the pool while I caught up with my photos on the Laptop. After their swim we got ready to head to Epcot.

We arrived at Epcot at about 4.30pm and got parked really close so walked to the turnstiles.

We had some photopass photos taken inside the entrance and then headed round to Soarin. The queue was too long so we decided to do The Seas with Nemo & Friends. We all enjoyed this ride.

Then we did Turtle Talk with Crush and the boys sat at the front. Freddie was chosen as the first one that Crush wanted to talk to. He asked him his name but didn’t understand him. Then he got him to say “Totally Sweet”.

We had just enough time to do one more ride before our ADR at Le Cellier so went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience. It seemed to take ages to get into this even though there was no queue. It wasn’t as good as the other 3D type rides and we were a bit disappointed with it.

We headed round to World Showcase and Canada to Le Cellier for our 7.05pm ADR.

We went to the Kidcot station while waiting to be called to our table.

We were soon seated but our table was right next to the door to the kitchen so we had servers rushing backwards and forwards past our table the whole time.

We both ordered the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup for starters. Kev ordered the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin with noodles and peanut sauce.

The boys both had Cheese Soup to start and Pasta with Tomato sauce for main course.

The pretzel bread that our server brought to us was delicious and we all enjoyed our cheese soup except for Freddie who found it too peppery.

We waited for a while for our mains to arrive and then our server came back to apologise that our order had got missed in the kitchen and that they were doing our meals now.

Tommy was starting to get sleepy now and so by the time we had waited extra time for our meals to arrive he wasn’t up to eating any of his meal. I sat him on my knee and he fell asleep on me!

I had to eat my Pork with one hand which I haven’t had to do since the boys were babies!

Kev had asked for his steak to be Medium Well Done bit it was very pink in the middle (probably due to them rushing to cook the meals). He also didn’t like the Mushroom Risotto that came with the steak.

I wasn’t keen on the sauce with my pork but that wasn’t their fault really.

We didn’t eat much of our meals and asked for our deserts to go.

We were glad that we were on the dining plan as we would have felt hard of paying for the meal out of our own pocket since we didn’t enjoy it at all.

I wouldn’t rule out trying the restaurant again as the Cheese Soup, Pretzel Bread & Deserts were delicious but would choose different mains and make and early reservation!

We were due to watch the fireworks but Freddie was shattered and said he wanted to go back to the hotel. We did see a couple of fireworks from the car park though!

Day Seven - Seaworld & Bahama Breeze

I can’t remember what we had for breakfast so presume it must have been a Counter Service at Pop Century.

We got to Seaworld in time for opening at 9.00am and headed straight to Dolphin Cove. They weren’t selling the trays of fish until 9.30am which meant that the dolphins were happy to come up the “free” end as no-one was feeding them. We were the first people at the side of the pool so had a good few minutes of attention from them which the boys loved.

We then had a look at the Stingray. They have got to be the hardest things to take photos of!

We headed to Turtle Point and had a quick look here before heading over to the 10am Clyde and Seamore Show to get seats in good time to watch the mime show (rather than be involved in the mime show!). This was hilarious! He was the best thing in Seaworld for me! The boys enjoyed the show here and so did we.

We went to do Kraken next and I couldn’t believe how short the queue was! There was no queue at all. I loved this rollercoaster and wish now I had gone on again.

Then Kev had a go and I managed to get a photo of him (back row):

Next we did Journey to Atlantis where we were impressed that Freddie was tall enough to ride. He went with Kev first while me & Tommy watched and I managed to get some photos of them:

The test for whether he enjoys things or not is whether he wants to go again or now and this time he did so I went on with him. No queue again for this. We both enjoyed it (Freddie was telling me all the way round what was coming next!).

Tommy was a bit miffed that he didn’t get to go on it but he soon got over it!

Next we headed round to the Shamu Stadium to watch the 12pm Believe. We grabbed some hot dogs and crisps before we went in and ate them while we were waiting for the show to start. I thought the boys would enjoy this since they had enjoyed the Clyde and Seamore show so much but they were bored. I did enjoy it but it was a bit corny for my liking!

After Believe we headed to the Clydesdale Hamlet to have a look at the horses (My Dad has two Clydesdales himself at home so although they weren’t very exciting for us we thought we better take some photos for him!)

We headed for Shamu’s Happy Harbor doing the Sea Carousel first:

Tommy played for ages on some big boat thing (he loves boats, pirate ships etc.) while Kev took Freddie on Shamu Express. Then we made the mistake of letting them play in the water area (with no change of clothes).

They got absolutely soaked and there was no way we were going to be able to go and watch Blue Horizons with them like this! I bought them a couple of Seaworld T-shirts and stripped their wet shorts off. We wrapped there lower halfs in their jumpers and strapped them in the buggies!

We went to the Shark Encounter and the Penguin Encounter. Then we watched the Pearl Divers for a bit. Our last point of call was to see the Alligators before making our way for the exit.

We decided on an early tea at Bahama Breeze and got there for about 5.00pm.

Since I was the one not driving I had a rare drink as I had heard so much about the Bahamaritas. It was delicious and I would recommend them to anyone!

For starters we ordered the Roasted Cuban Bread:

And the Island Onion Rings:

They were gorgeous. I could just eat that Cuban Bread now thinking about it!

For main meal Kev chose the Wood Grilled Angus Burger and loved it:

I had the West Indies Ribs which were the best I had ever had:

Tommy chose a Cheese Pizza:

Freddie had Macaroni Cheese:

We didn’t have room for desert so we paid our bill and headed back to the hotel for an early night after our later night the night before.
