Day Ten - Universal Studios

We had a couple of donuts for breakfast in our room to keep us going and planned on getting some breakfast in the park so we could get a good start.

We checked out of the hotel and put the bags into the car then made our way round to Citywalk.

We took a few photos:

We were at the entrance for Universal Studios for opening at 9.00am and headed straight for Shrek 4d (along with everyone else I think!). Even with our front of line passes we still had to queue for a while. Then after we had waited in the holding area and listened to the little preshow thing the lady announced that there had been a problem with the previous show and that we could wait in the holding room or go and come back later. They were moving the audience that was already in the theatre into a new theatre and then we had to wait for them to see the show before we could. Lots of people huffed and left but we decided to stay and wait for a while. Good job we did as they then said that we could go and join the audience already in the theatre (bet the ones that left would be annoyed if they knew!) We had to walk through the empty “broken” theatre, down a corridor and then into a different theatre. It was half empty anyway! The show was great. Worth waiting for and one of the best 4d shows so far!

We headed across to the Jimmy Neutron ride but Tommy was too small so I had to sit in the stationary seats with him. It was rubbish in the stationary seats and Kev didn’t really like the one in the moving seats. I think Freddie enjoyed it though.

On our way out we met Sponge Bob:

We were getting hungry now but couldn’t find anywhere selling food. Everywhere was closed! We eventually found a sweet shop type place and bought a big bag of crisps and some fudge. Very healthy breakfast!

We headed round to “San Francisco” to the Jaws ride but it wasn’t open yet. We had some photos taken with Jaws while we waited:

While we were waiting for Jaws to open we decided to head over and do the Simpsons ride. We were very lucky and they let Tommy ride (he is slightly under height because he never stands up tall!). We all loved this and would have liked to have rode again but didn’t want to risk Tommy not being allowed on again and him getting upset. When we came off the ride Lisa & Bart were outside so we got some photos:

We went back to Jaws which was now open and enjoyed the front of line passes as there was quite a big queue in the normal line. We had warned the boys about this so they were quite well prepared and didn’t get too scared. It was very good!

We stopped for some fries to keep us going after our rubbish breakfast!

Next stop was Men in Black. Tommy was too small so we did a baby switch. Freddie loved this and really liked riding it twice!

We headed round to the Kid Zone and joined the front of line queue for ET. While we were in the queue we had the surprise of our life when our neighbour from home tapped us on the shoulder! We didn’t even know they had gone to Disney so to bump into them at the other side of the world in the same park on the same ride was amazing! They were in the normal queue so after the ride we waited outside and had a quick chat with them.

While we were in ET the heavens opened. We sheltered for a while and then decided to crack on (boys with raincoats on and us with sweatshirts). We headed for Wood Woodpeckers Nuthouse Coaster and were the only ones mad enough to ride in the rain!

We then took the boys over to Curious George goes to town and got them changed into their swimmers (we remembered them this time after the Seaworld disaster). The rain didn’t stop them enjoying this! While we were here the rain eventually stopped.

We headed towards the exit and met Scooby Doo & Shaggy on the way:

One last look in the shop and Tommy was begging me to buy him the blue hair to go with his Thing 2 t-shirt! I took photos of both boys in the blue hair:

But bought him the “Cat in the Hat” hat instead which he loved.

We headed out to Citywalk and shared a Pizza, Meatball Sub & Desert before heading back to our car.

We called in at Walmart for a spot of shopping on our way to Hollywood Studios where we had a reservation for 5.15 at Sci Fi Dine in.

We headed to Pixar Place and joined the queue to meet Buzz & Woody. The queue was quite long but we took some photos along the way:

We had our photos taken (will post the Photopass photos separately) and then headed over to see if we could catch the Power Rangers. We had just enough time for a quick photo with the Black one:

It was now time to head to Sci Fi Dine in (which took a bit of finding!)

We had to wait a little while for our “table” but the wait was worth it. Our server was very good and the boys loved the idea of sitting in a car to eat!

I had the baby back ribs, The boys had Beef & Macaroni and Kev had the Steak.

For desert we both had the Hot Fudge Sundae:

The boys had Ice Cream Sundaes:

We all really enjoyed our meal and our only complaint was that it was hard to see what you were eating in the dark!

We headed back to Pop Century after a busy day.
